When you set out to uncover what makes a St. Croix different from other rods, you need look no further than the engineer sitting right beside the rod designer. It’s a partnership that’s produced such breakthroughs as St. Croix’s exclusive Integrated Poly Curve® and Advanced Reinforcing Technology.™ Rod performance is only as good as the design behind it – and rest assured, before we even think about sending a rod through for production, we make sure we spend as much time as necessary in the design department to assure that every St. Croix rod is engineered and developed to outperform all others.

TECHNOLOGY

Never underestimate the power of a machine. Or a dozen.

Step inside our Park Falls factory and you’ll find a battery of machines – machines developed and built right here. Tools most rod makers would never take the time to build let alone use. Lasers for perfectly aligning and checking grips and guides. Tools of vicious torture to assure every rod is worthy of the laser aligned St. Croix logo it will wear out the door.

Legend Elite

Fly fishing may not be for everyone. In fact, some people experience dramatic and permanent side-effects. Such as an inability to stay on the road when it follows alongside a river. Or decreased concentration at parent teacher conferences during blue-winged olive hatches. Or a complete dependence on Legend Elite fly rods. Yes, the uncontrollable need to experience slim-profile ferrules and stunning cosmetics married to premium, high-modulus, high-strain SCV graphite blanks loaded with ART™ and IPC® technology has been reported. Legend Elites also feature SCVI graphite in the lower portion of the rod for added power and reduced weight. The result is enough space-age science and American handcraftsmanship to give you a four-piece rod that performs like a one-piece. Freshwater models are finished in a smooth Gallatin green, while the saltwater rods – featuring our max-power butt section for handling big fish and even bigger winds – are finished in a sweet, Belize blue. Every one meets the demands of the most intense fresh- and saltwater fly-fishing applications conceived. Use wisely.
