The
Waterworks
ULA design represents our undiluted design
vision. No compromises were made in materials or
design. The result is lightweight, high
performance and beautiful. But it doesn’t come
cheap. The
Lamson
Litespeed was designed to bring as many of the
ULA’s performance benefits to a more affordable
reel. We achieved this by changing the structure
and moving from titanium to stainless, yet were
able to keep all other features of the ULA.
Lamson
Velocity brings this world-class drag to a large
arbor reel at only $250.
Lamson
Guru, by machining a simpler form and foregoing
expensive finishes, brings machined technology
and a $400+ drag to the $175 price point. And
Lamson
Konic with it's hybrid of machined conical drag
and pressure-cast case and large arbor spool,
brings superior performance to the low-$100's.
Each of our models was designed to achieve this
one goal: to offer superior performance and
value at its respective price point.
Product design is the marriage of materials
science and engineering with vision, creativity
and art. It is the pursuit of product perfection
through superior performance, simplicity and
grace.
It was a passion for product design combined
with a love for sport that formed our company.
The
Waterworks-Lamson
is unique among fly fishing companies. We are
not a machine shop selling reels, we are not a
marketing company importing products from
overseas. Our focus is exclusively on fly
fishing products, our expertise and experience
is in product design, and we are committed to
the highest standards of domestic manufacturing.
Our products uniquely reflect our drive for
superior design. For us this means they must
embody true innovation and meaningful
improvement. You won't see The Waterworks
marketing "just another fly reel" or a "me-too"
accessory. If we can't do it better, we won't do
it at all.
Making great products also requires a commitment
to flawless manufacturing quality. From the
Grade 5 titanium, the heat-treated 6020 aluminum
alloy and the 544 bearing bronze we use in our
reels, to the carbon thermo- composite we mold
into the Ketchum Release, each material
selection is made without a hint of compromise.
The state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques
and processes we employ result in the highest
possible standards of precision, finish and
function. And, of course, we extend our
commitment to quality by offering personal
assistance to our dealers and our customers
throughout the lifetime of the product.
We thank you for your interest in our products,
and we look forward to being a part of your
passion for the sport. |

ULA Force Saltwater/Spey
Strength, grace, speed; just as tarpon, bonefish and steelhead have been shaped
by the need to thrive in their environments, so have the FS series reels evolved
to live comfortably amid salt, sun, sand, or silt; boat decks and river rocks;
powerful fish and blistering runs.
The result is the spectacular retrieve rate of a large-but-light "open" frame
and spool; the use of an oversized, high-torque version of our patented conical
drag; the benefit of a super-hard ceramic anodize finish.
Each FS reel is fully CNC machined in the U.S., with the highest standards of
precision and craftsmanship. And if you happen to find them beautiful as well as
functional, we won't take credit for that. They are, like the fish, just
products of their environment. |

ULA P-Series
The Waterworks ULA P-Series reels are, to our
knowledge, the lightest machined reels in the
world today. To achieve this weight savings, the
ULA uses an arm-style body and open spool
design. In order to maintain structural
rigidity, each surface of the ULA is curved.
This subtly complex shape is extremely demanding
to machine, but results in a strong, light and
beautiful high-performance reel.
The ULA P-Series represents the lightest end of
the ULA range of reels. The P-Series utilizes a
click-pawl brake to achieve maximum simplicity
and weight savings. This reel is for the
fisherman who wants to minimize weight and
maximize contact with the fish. The P-Series
reels are CNC machined from solid
aerospace-grade aluminum and titanium in the
U.S. |

ULA Force LT
The ULA Force LT reel combines the weight
savings of the ULA Purist with the smooth
conical drag that is used in the ULA Force LT
Saltwater. The ULA Force LT has the stopping
power needed for strong running fish, durability
for travel and saltwater exposure, yet is
sufficiently lightweight to cast all day without
fatigue.
The ULA Force LT reels also offer the
versatility of the “Fx” spools. This means that
with the F2 reel you have a 4/5 weight reel and
with the purchase of an F2x spool you'll be able
to run 6 weight line. With the F3 reel you'll
have a reel that is light enough to match to a 5
weight rod, and with the purchase of an
additional F3x spool you’ll be able to run an 8
weight saltwater line with plenty of backing for
bonefish without having to buy a second reel.
With the Force reels, adding a spare “Fx” spool
is like buying an entirely new reel for the
price of a spool.

Lamson Litespeed Hard Alox
The new Lamson Litespeed Hard Alox™ is a true
large arbor reel with the same fully-sealed drag
system that is used in the Waterworks ULA. Like
the ULA, the Litespeed Alox is machined in the
U.S. from barstock aluminum. By utilizing a more
traditional structural design and foregoing the
use of titanium we are able to offer a very
fine, high performance large arbor reel at a
value you would expect from Lamson. Lighter
without sacrificing strength, the new Lightspeed
Hard Alox will come in a close second to a
corresponding Force reel in terms of retrieve
rate and weight, and each shares our patented
maintenance-free super smooth conical drag.

Lamson Velocity Hard Alox
Velocity: only the name remains the same.
Totally redesigned and machined using a unique
“3 plane” pocket milling technique, every aspect
of performance, strength-to-weight ratio, line
pick-up speed and storage has been improved. And
as is often the case, the distinctive new
engineered “truss” wall structure give Velocity
a personality all its own. Bigger, faster,
lighter and stronger.

Lamson Guru
We’re pleased to introduce Guru, an enlightening
reel. Guru enters the family as our
lowest-priced fully machined reel. The signature
arm-style element on the frame combines with
open spokes to maximize structural strength and
minimize weight. As with our other reels, Guru
features true large arbor ratios. Guru is
available in 4 weight through 10 weight, and
shares identical drag design and components with
our most expensive reels. Guru is finished with
a clear type 2 anodize.

Lamson Konic
New for 2008, Konic delivers smart design and
high performance in Lamson's most affordable
reel. The same super-smooth, fully sealed
conical drag system and stainless roller clutch
used in our more expensive reels are matched
with machined components and pressure cast
ALDC12 aluminum alloy spool and frame. Konic is
anodized then finished with a 100% solid
polyurethane coating to resist gouging and
abrasion. Affordable reels just got a whole lot
better.
